HIV/AIDS Research and Awareness: Our National Philanthropy Commitment

Our commitment to HIV/AIDS awareness is driven by the belief that education, early detection, and compassion can change lives.

Through our philanthropy, we support research, raise funds, and break the stigma surrounding HIV, empowering communities to take action in the fight against this global health issue.

Our Foundational Story:

Since its founding, our brotherhood has been deeply committed to community service and philanthropy.

In June 1989, we faced a heartbreaking loss when Alberto Rivera, one of our 20 founding fathers, passed away due to complications from HIV. In his memory, our brothers made the unanimous decision to make HIV/AIDS awareness and research our national philanthropy.

At the time, our brotherhood consisted of just 129 members in New Jersey. Still, Alberto’s passing ignited a tradition that continues today — a shared mission to fight HIV/AIDS and support those affected.

How We Contribute:

At LSU, we contribute to the fight against HIV/AIDS in many impactful ways. We partner with organizations and companies to educate our members and communities, helping to break the stigma surrounding HIV/AIDS.

Our chapters actively raise funds and donate to non-profit organizations dedicated to HIV/AIDS research and support.

Additionally, we participate in AIDS walks across the country, from New York City to Philadelphia, Atlanta, Charlotte, Wilmington, and beyond.

We are constantly challenging ourselves to find innovative ways to make a meaningful difference in the communities we serve.
